What attributes do professional anglers (and serious amateurs) look for in a tournament bass boat? It must be comfortable to fish from and provide ample storage for, and easy access to, a warehouse full of rods, tackle and gear. Hot performance is a biggie -- when you’re casting for cash, you can’t afford to let your competition beat you to your honey hole. It should be quick out of the hole, maneuverable in tight quarters and easy to drive at all speeds. And it must have a smooth, dry ride in rough water.
Now Triton exceeds all of these demands with its sensational new XS Series. These tournament-level boats offer the bass fishing industry’s most advanced blend of fishability, performance, drivability and riding comfort.
Triton’s new XS Series is available in both single and dual console versions in five exciting formats:
• The 21XS. Designed to conquer the biggest, roughest professional tournament venues, this stunning Triton spans 21 feet 7 inches and sports a 95-inch beam. It rates for outboards from 200 to 300 hp and has a fuel capacity of 53 gallons.
• The 20XS. Perfectly sized for professional-level tournament competition, this ultra-sleek rig is 20 feet 9 inches long with a 95-inch beam, rates for 175 to 250 hp outboards and can carry 53 gallons of fuel.
• The 20XS HP. A favorite of competitive anglers, this model has the same specifications and interior as the new 20XS, but features Triton’s legendary High Performance hull for unmatched top-end speed.
• The 19XS. This sensibly sized 20 foot 2 inch tournament boat has a 95-inch beam, handles outboards from 175 to 225 hp and has a 53-gallon fuel tank.
• The 18XS. The ideal boat for the dedicated amateur angler, this 18 foot 8 inch rig has a 94-inch beam, rates for 135 to 175 hp outboards and carries up to 37 gallons of fuel.

Top bass pros like Gerald Swindle, Gary Klein and Shaw Grigsby will be competing from Triton’s XS Series rigs on the 2010 BASS Elite Series tournament trail. “These truly are the ultimate tournament bass boats,” Grigsby, a veteran pro angler and 11-time Bassmaster Classic qualifier, indicated. “My XS is everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a bass rig: fast, safe, comfortable and sexy.”
Perhaps the greatest asset of the new XS Series is its superior riding comfort. Utilizing Triton’s exclusive combination of a hyper-engineered deep vee hull and adjustable shock-absorbing driver and passenger seats, these advanced boats tame rough water and treat you to an unbelievably smooth, dry ride. And best of all, they’re as easy to drive as they are comfortable to ride in. “You don’t have to be a pro to drive an XS,” Grigsby emphasized. “These boats literally jump out of the hole, plane off in a heartbeat and are supremely stable at high speeds with very little steering effort required. They make chine walking a thing of the past -- my grandmother could drive one of these rigs!”
The interior of Triton’s XS series is ergonomically designed to anticipate the serious tournament competitor’s every need. The massive casting decks feature padded carpeting and a recessed trolling motor foot pedal for all-day fishing comfort. Four transverse bulkheads impart incredible fishing stability – unlike other bass rigs, an XS Series Triton won’t lean to port or starboard when two anglers are casting from the same side off the boat. The front casting deck offers two seat pedestal positions and a platform large enough to easily accommodate two anglers, tremendous benefits when pitching or flipping in heavy cover. The newly designed bow panel now features convenient livewell controls and room to flush-mount a GPS unit with a screen up to 8 inches – a bass boat industry first.
The XS Series sets a new standard for rod and tackle storage. Twelve newly designed rod tubes fully enclose rods up to 7 feet 11 inches in length, the perfect system for those hard-to-store crankbait and swim bait sticks. Cavernous tackle-ready slotted storage modules fore and aft put your arsenal of lures at your fingertips. Triton’s Life Support livewells are standard, and feature a shrouded overflow to prevent sloshing, air-injected water flow for superior oxygenation and high-speed pump-out system.
Triton’s XS Series sports the most user-friendly console on the planet. Wiring is 100% solid state, totally eliminating all fuses and circuits. There’s room for 10-inch flush-mounted electronics, including the latest side-scan LCR/GPS units. The console’s unique “floating” design lets the driver enter and exit easily. Adjustable extra-wide driver and passenger seats provide ample knee and legroom, further enhancing the boat’s riding comfort. The removable center courtesy seat conceals a handy 12-pack cooler, and there’s a convenient landing net storage area behind the seats. Of course, Triton’s award-winning Res-Q retractable boarding ladder comes standard as an important safety feature.
Every Triton XS Series bass boat comes tournament-ready with the longest list of standard fishing, convenience and safety features in the industry. Each boat features Triton’s legendary wood free composite construction and limited lifetime hull warranty. Owners of XS Series Tritons who excel in tournament competition can qualify for cash rewards under the brand’s Triton Gold and Black Gold incentive programs, which offer some $3 million in cash rewards in over 3000 sanctioned tournaments.
