Western Contingency Bonus Pays Off

When pro bass angler Justin Kerr captured the recent Stren Series Western Division tournament in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, he reeled in more than the $25,000 for first prize. He also landed a new TR-200 Triton bass boat from Triton Boats.

Kerr, a Simi Valley, California resident, is the first recipient of a new boat that Triton is now offering to Triton Gold members who win Western Division tournaments in the Wal-Mart FLW Series and Stren Series.

“We would like to congratulate Justin on his recent tournament victory and on being the first to win a new Triton boat as part of our West Coast bonus Triton Gold program,” said Earl Bentz, Triton Boats founder and president. “We look forward to presenting other Triton boats to Triton owners who capture Western Division Wal-Mart FLW and Stren Series events.”

Winning a new boat on top of first place prize money at the February 20-23 Lake Havasu competition was a thrill for Kerr. “I love Triton boats. I have been with them since 1999 and will never switch. I have tried every other boat brand, but nothing compares to a Triton,” commented Kerr.

Fishing from his Triton TR-20 X Series craft on Lake Havasu, Kerr’s four-day total of 53 pounds, 14 ounces gave him the title, his first Stren Series win of 2008. The 26-year old pro became involved in team fishing tournaments in 2000 and turned pro in 2003. Since 2004, he has 25 top ten finishes in bass tournaments, all in the Western Region.
