Team Insta-Gator Tops Texas SKA Division from a Triton 23’

Posted: 10/23/2002

Ashland City, TN (10-21-02) – Team Insta-Gator made-up of captain Darrin Taylor and crew Avery Wallace and Brad Taylor did what no other Class of 23 team has done in Texas in the six year history of the Southern Kingfish Association (SKA)…They posted the largest three fish aggregate for all boats (not just 23 and under) fishing Texas’ division 8, 125.45. In their 23’ Triton center-console they landed the following fish during the 2002 season: A 43.33 in Port Aransas, a 38.07 in Freeport, and finally their largest of the three, a 44.05. What a great accomplishment for Team Insta-Gator, proving that their Triton 23’ has similar offshore capabilities to boats much larger in size.

Dayton, Texas team captain, Darrin Taylor, was quick to credit his Triton 23’ as an important contributing factor to their successful season. “We wanted a boat that could compete with the big guys. Well, not only did we find, but we proved it,” stated Taylor. “Triton builds a great boat and everyone on the trail has wanted to check-out my boat,” he concluded.

Congratulations Team Insta-Gator and good luck in Biloxi at the SKA National!
