11/25/2013 I purchased this boat with one of the last of the 50 ELPTO Mercury Classics in 2010. The dimensions of the current model are somewhat smaller than my boat, but I had misgivings about such great beam and construction weight with such a small engine, albeit a 2-stroke. I propped my 50 with a PowerTec NREB series SS 3-blade, originally designed for the Tracker 17 Pro Team, and this combo turns 5200 RPM and produces a GPS speed of 30MPH loaded, and I do mean loaded.
I generally fish alone or in small team venues locally on Missouri's largest reservoir, Truman Lake. I am a big guy at 6'3, 240lbs, and I have never felt cramped, even when my wife or another partner joins me. The deck space, stability, and storage are simply amazing. While I could occasionally use more flat out speed, I can't complain about the cost of 1-2 gallons of fuel for 3-4 hours on the water, and I am not exaggerating! Even though the boat's wiring harness is set up for a 24V trolling motor circuit and two batteries, I opted for only one Group 27 battery for this purposes and downsized my trolling motor to a MotorGuide FW55 12V, and I have plenty of room between the two batteries for my Dual Pro 2-bank charger.
The 12 degree, shallow V hull is absolutely awesome and produces a very dry ride in everything under 2 foot swells; very solid feeling with great insulation where it is needed. I've had glass boats up to 19' with 175HP, two other 18' aluminum bass boats of well known and highly touted manufacturers with 100HP motors, and while all of them would outrun this Triton X17, none of them provided a more stable and efficient fishing platform that can take you out and bring you safely home again and again. Even though the livewell does not have a recirculation pump, I have NEVER had a dead fish, and have had everything from a 20lb.fiive fish limit to a 30", 10lb. walleye in that 32 gallon livewell. Can't say enough positive things about this rig...Get One!

7/2/2013 This boat is a winner. Very smooth in calm and slightly choppy water. Everything I need in a bass rig. Runs well with 60 merc 4 stroke and great on fuel. Two thumbs up and worth the extra money paid
